Dr. Protzel graduated with his B.A. in Biology from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. He went on to get his B.S. in Medical Science from the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences; College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery in Des Moines, Iowa. Finally, he received his D.P.M (Doctor of Podiatric Medicine) from the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences; College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery, now called Des Moines University in Des Moines, Iowa. He went on to do his residency in Reconstructive Surgery of the Foot and Ankle at Deaconess Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
Upon completion of his residency, Dr. Protzel started his own private practice, which was the beginning of The Foot and Ankle Centers of Southeast Missouri. Foot and Ankle Centers of Southeast Missouri was founded in Sikeston on July 13, 1992. In 1998, the Cape Girardeau location was established.
Dr. Protzel is the leading foot doctor and podiatrist in the greater Southeast Missouri area, including Cape Girardeau and Sikeston.
